Decatur’s Citizens on Patrol (COPS) program provides trained citizen volunteers who assist the Decatur Police Department with designated non-confrontational activities as civilian patrollers and administrative volunteers in order to increase citizen understanding and participation in police activities, enhance crime prevention, and provide additional man-power to improve service to the community.
Participation in the COPS program is open to active members of the Decatur Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association who have and maintain back-ground and driving checks, and who have completed DCPAAA program training.
